Is 2012 going to happen?

I never really believed in it, but my dad and I were talking about it, and he said that there is an increase in natural disasters (earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions etc), Could this be a sign that 2012 will happen after all? I don't want to die at the age of 24! I actually think it might happen
